The name Quinta do Noval first appeared in records from 1715. The history of Quinta do Noval is marked by the actions of António José da Silva, a visionary and port operator, who acquired Quinta do Noval in 1894, after it was devastated by phylloxera.

Cedro, named after the emblematic tree that dominates the terrace of Quinta do Noval, is an authentic expression of the Douro.

It has a very dark colour and a notable aromatic intensity, with notes of wild berries and spices. Well polished in the mouth, it has a firm structure and good volume with well-integrated oak notes.

It is a strong wine that combines freshness and purity of fruit that gives it a very long finish.
